Why Kairo exists

Fasting advice online is either a countdown timer with no guidance, or an influencer yelling absolutes. We thought there should be a third option: a calm guide that does the thinking with you — and shows its work.

The idea

Most people who try intermittent fasting quit within two weeks — not because fasting is too hard, but because nobody told them the three things that actually matter: how to place the window around their life, what to eat inside it, and how to break a fast without wrecking it. Timers count hours. They don't answer any of that.

Kairo starts from the opposite end. You tell it your goal, your schedule, and how you like to eat; it builds your plan and — this is the part we care most about — explains every recommendation. The protocol, the window, the calorie target, the first foods after a fast: each one comes with its reasoning, in plain language. If a recommendation can't justify itself, it doesn't ship.

The principles it runs on

Who's behind it

Kairo is built by an independent maker in Oregon, USA — not a venture-funded growth machine. The website is the planning and learning home; the Kairo iPhone app (in beta) is the daily companion that tracks your fasts and recovery. Pro subscriptions are what fund development — when you upgrade, you're directly backing the roadmap.
